Benefits of Niagara Falls Directional Drilling
The most important benefit of horizontal directional drilling is that this method helps maintain the integrity of environmentally sensitive landscapes, unlike conventional plumbing and trenching. Traditional trenching requires time-consuming labor and involves environmentally damaging excavation.
Horizontal directional drilling uses steerable rigs that deliver precise bores, that are ideal for pipe insertion on completion.
Niagara Falls Directional Drilling
Anta Horizontal Directional Drilling uses specialized equipment to enable engineers to install ducts or pipes beneath hardscapes ranging from application as diverse as landscapes, runways or taxiways, waterways, roads, railways, coastal sea defences, and similar surfaces. We have worked in the area for many years and understand the unique challenges involved in drilling in Ontario.
Horizontal directional drilling uses a fast and powerful, economic method to install conduits or pipes under a vast range of surface obstacles. It is the ideal alternative to open cut methods, especially considering the time and costs involved in traditional trenching. HDD can be performed across vast distances or on relatively small work sites.
HDD offers flexibility. Pipes or conduits can be installed in straight or curved alignments, which provides peace of mind in terms of avoiding other underground services. Engineers will carefully plan the project by determining the location of any existing underground conduits or pipes and work around such complications.
Horizontal directional drilling reduces disruption to surface level activities and the need for road closures. Since HDD working hours are more flexible, fewer premium rate working hours are required, which reduces the cost of your project.
The Niagara Falls Directional Drilling Process
Anta Horizontal Directional Drilling uses state-of-the art navigation equipment in order to locate underground pipework, utilities, or obstacles. Our engineers use the information provided to identify a path for your new underground conduits or pipes. A specialist drill head is equipped with a transmitter that provides accurate information about the depth, pitch, position and surface level locator. The drill operator uses that information to apply required changes.
The angled drill bit is equipped with a flexible rod. This rod is steered into a relatively small pilot hole. It has the ability to move around obstacles without causing damage to other underground utilities. The team will attach another rod to form a drill string. The drill string bends on the command of the operator or navigator.
On completion of the pilot bore, the operator will remove the drill head and insert a back reamer to enlarge the drill path diameter . Finally, the team will attach a piping product to the back reamer and pull it into place.
